A friend asked recently why so many people were struggling in so many areas of their lives.

Why are marriages, families, schools, and businesses failing?  What’s wrong with the world?  She wondered.

A wise mutual friend answered, “It’s a lack of hope.”  So simple.  So profound.  So troubling.  If there’s a lack of hope in the world, then we as Christians are failing at our most important calling.  Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

As God fills us with hope in his son Jesus, we are called to give and serve others out of our overflow.  What are you doing to serve this week?  Are you looking for an opportunity?

Join us this Saturday as we serve alongside our outreach partner Hope Cancer Ministries.  It’s a family-friendly opportunity to enjoy time at McAlpine Creek park with friends.  Meet and encourage cancer survivors.  Join us as we serve our community through the Orange Initiative.  And if you’re a runner – this opportunity is custom-made for you.  Your entry fee is covered!  Sign up today!
