GRAND OPENING – Elevation Blakeney

SOUTH CHARLOTTE (11:46pm) – Even after the adrenaline rush dies down, this is still going to rank among the top weekends of my life.

We kicked off the Grand Opening Weekend for Elevation Blakeney with a thousand people packed for worship into the brand-new auditorium.  Pastor Steven Furtick shared why he believes Elevation has grown so much over the past five years – and we ended on “I Love Rock and Roll.”  Elijah Furtick made his debut on drums.  There’s much more ahead this weekend, and you are invited.  You’ve got to see it!

Elevation Blakeney is a state-of-the art performance center located in the heart of South Charlotte, and we believe it will become the new cultural hub of the rapidly expanding Blakeney area.  The 1,050-seat complex was built for weekend worship experiences, AND is specifically designed to be a fully functional arts and media center available to the public during the week.

With the opening of Blakeney, Elevation Church will have four campuses and more than 6,000 people in regular attendance.  Elevation Church was recently recognized as the 4th-fastest growing church in America by Outreach Magazine.

Pastor Steven Furtick leads Elevation Church with a vision and passion to see those far from God filled with life in Christ.  Pastor Steven’s newly released book, Sun Stand Still is a Christian bestseller that challenges readers to “dare to believe God for the impossible.”

One Comment on “GRAND OPENING – Elevation Blakeney

  1. Steven stepping up on stage during the last song of gathering music was powerful. I understand Steven has a busy schedule and the responsbility for being the face and voice of the church, but I noticed an immense emotional rush and pure joy on his face. He obviously was overwhelmed as was I.

Sometimes when words fail, music speaks – I would love to see Steven pick up the guitar on occasion and boogie a bit. I had a pastor at a church in LA that dusted off the trombone and played guitar – the congragation loved it as did the pastor.

Anyway, congratulations on the successful and joyful grand opening. I enjoyed the experience!!
