CHARLOTTE – (6:02pm) I can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Thank you, WBTV, and thank YOU – our viewers for allowing me into your home this past decade. Tonight in the newsroom, we’ll celebrate with fried chicken from the King’s Kitchen, whose motto is “To feed the hungry and heal the brokenhearted.”

This non-profit restaurant in the heart of center city Charlotte gives jobs to those many would consider “unemployable,” – “from people who have come out of prison and rehab, to youths that are at high risk from dropping out of school.”

I love my colleagues – I love the idea of sharing biscuits and fried chicken with them on my 10-year anniversary – and I love the idea that the money I spend is an investment in the lives of people some may consider un-lovable.

Thank you Jim and Karen Noble for making it possible to bless back my colleagues neighbors in such a delicious way!
