My fabulous, handsome, and talented husband was at home with the boys this afternoon, and sent me a text, asking me about my day.
It was a crazy one. I told him among other things I had changed diapers, folded laundry, made brunch for four children, wrote a story for the 5:30 newscast, and was currently working on ways to change the world.
The past couple weeks, I’ve been in a whirlwind filled with smart people, great ideas, and opportunities to improve the lives of people right here in this city.
We’re launching into 2009 with an initiative unlike anything I’ve ever seen from a local television news department. I can’t wait to share all the details with you.
For now, here’s our story today from 5:30.
And here’s Marian Wright Edelman’s editorial in the Huffington Post. I’m currently reading her book, “The Sea is So Wide and My Boat is So Small, Charting a Course for the Next Generation.” I highly recommend it for teachers, parents, advocates, faith community leaders, and anyone who cares about the future of our nation.
