24 Hours of Booty – so far has raised more than $918,000 to fund cancer research and support to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and other local charities.
And it’s going national – the first “Booty” outside Charlotte happens this September in Columbia, Maryland. Wow. And it all started right here. Incredible work!
Time Crunch – I’ve got more responsibilities, and less time to myself these days. So the first thing to go was the commuting by bus. It frustrates me. The transfer is the deal-breaker. So I’ve got a CATS Express bus pass… unusued… and I’m giving it away.
Friendship Trays needs drivers – Charlotte’s poor are getting nickeled and dimed to death. Higher gas prices and higher food prices are hurting local families. If you can share some time and gas money, there are routes available for the area’s meals on wheels program. It’s a wonderful way to bring some joy and a hot meal to a homebound person.
Burgers and Ice Cream – We enjoyed a tasty meal out this weekend. But it wasn’t what I planned. A boxed meal I’d purchased recently and added fresh veggies to was contaminated with pieces of metal. I’ve contacted the company – and I’m giving them time to respond. Stay tuned. This could get ugly.
